Ingredients

  • 1 fully cooked bone-in spiral-cut ham (7 to 8 lb, sized to fit your slow cooker)
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup or honey
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves

Steps

  1. Discard any glaze packet. Set the ham in the slow cooker, cut side down. If the lid won't close, cover tightly with foil.
  2. Whisk the brown sugar, pineapple juice, maple syrup, mustard, cinnamon and cloves. Pour about half over the ham, letting it run between the slices.
  3. Cover and cook on low 3 1/2 to 4 hours, until the ham reaches 140°F in the center. Spoon the juices over once or twice.
  4. Pour the cooking juices into a saucepan with the remaining glaze and simmer until syrupy, 5 to 8 minutes.
  5. Brush the thickened glaze over the ham, slice and serve with extra glaze on the side.

TipFor a crackly finish, set the glazed ham under a hot broiler for 2 to 3 minutes before slicing.
